This funding supports UK research organisations to establish Satellite Labs within the CoSTAR Network, delivering state-of-the-art creative R&D facilities co-located with screen or performance companies. Funded activities include facility design, technology infrastructure, staffing, and access programmes to reduce barriers for creative businesses adopting technology and accelerating commercialisation and scale-up of creative tech. Projects run for three years with significant third-party co-investment required.
Eligible applicants must be UK research organisations eligible for AHRC funding, leading consortia including commercial and local authority partners. Applicants must be UK residents with a doctorate or equivalent experience and a strong track record in creative sector R&D and innovation.
