This grant funds research projects that evaluate the long-term legacy of major UK sporting and cultural events through live experimental evaluation. Projects should address gaps in existing methodologies, use quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods, and focus on at least one major UK event case study. Collaboration with event delivery and evaluation partners is required to ensure data sharing and added value. The project duration is up to 34 months, starting May 2027.
Applicants must be based at UK research organisations eligible for AHRC funding. Eligible organizations include public sector, non-profit, and private sector entities. Project leads must be employed by an eligible organisation during the project and primarily based in the UK.
