This funding supports collaborative Discovery Phase projects tackling seven key energy challenges such as advanced transmission, dynamic modelling, green gas, and whole system optimisation. Projects must plan for progression through Alpha, Beta, and Deployment phases. Eligible leads are Ofgem licensed gas or electricity networks or the National Energy System Operator, collaborating with research or industry partners. Funding up to £200,000 is available for projects lasting five months starting after January 2027.
