This fund supports projects that implement, improve, or consolidate bioinformatics databases, software tools, and biological materials to serve the UK bioscience community. Projects should focus on community resources that enable FAIR data principles, AI readiness, and access to biological materials. Funding covers up to 80% of full economic costs, with projects lasting up to five years and budgets up to £2 million.
Applicants must be based at UK research organisations eligible for BBSRC funding. Eligible applicants include public sector, non-profit, and private sector organisations. International researchers cannot apply but may participate as project partners.
