This award supports researchers without prior experience leading significant projects to accelerate their development as independent researchers. It funds ambitious, interdisciplinary, or practice-based projects within the AHRC subject remit. Funding covers up to five years with a maximum FEC of £300,000, supporting leadership, convenor experience, and career development. International co-leads are permitted, and mentoring is encouraged to support project leads.
Applicants must be based at UK research organisations eligible for AHRC funding and must not have previously led significant research grants except specified exceptions.
