This funding supports research projects that address key scientific and technological challenges in quantum networking and communications. Projects should advance components, systems, and architectures for secure, scalable quantum networks, including integration with classical infrastructure and enabling technologies. Research areas include quantum routers, memories, photonics, systems integration, network architectures, security, and application-driven development. Projects must contribute to the UK National Quantum Strategy Mission 2 goals and engage relevant stakeholders to maximize impact.
Applicants must be based at UK research organisations eligible for EPSRC funding. Eligible organisations include public sector, non-profit, and private sector entities. International researchers cannot be project co-leads but may participate as collaborators.
