This grant supports UK SMEs to conduct feasibility studies on frontier AI and ML technologies that deliver state-of-the-art performance or new capabilities. Funded projects focus on de-risking technical feasibility and generating evidence for future scale-up and commercialization. Projects must last 1-3 months with budgets between £150,000 and £250,000. Successful Phase 1 applicants may progress to Phase 2 for further development and demonstration.
Eligible applicants are UK-registered micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) conducting projects in the UK. Projects must start by April 1, 2027, last 1-3 months, and have total costs between £150,000 and £250,000. Subcontractors are not allowed, and only one application per SME is permitt
