This grant scheme provides targeted subsidies to mobile network operators, neutral hosts, and infrastructure providers to deploy and upgrade 4G and 5G infrastructure in underserved Total Not Spot and Partial Not Spot locations across North Wales. It addresses commercial viability gaps by funding capital costs for new projects that improve mobile coverage, capacity, and economic benefits. Projects must complete by January 2030 and demonstrate measurable outcomes by March 2036.
Eligible applicants include mobile network operators, neutral hosts, infrastructure providers, and any organization capable of delivering compliant projects in North Wales. High-risk vendors and certain nationalities are excluded. Collaborative bids are allowed with a single lead applicant.
