This grant funds research to boost the competitiveness of organic crop breeding by developing varieties specifically adapted to intercropping systems. Projects should advance understanding of plant traits influencing inter- and intraspecific interactions, develop new organic breeding approaches for multi-species systems, identify superior crop combinations, and provide tools for evaluating genotypes under intercropping conditions. Emphasis is placed on eco-physiological processes and regulatory aspects of organic breeding material.
Eligible applicants must comply with admissibility conditions, country eligibility, financial and operational capacity, and other criteria outlined in the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes. Proposals must follow specified page limits and layouts and meet evaluation criteria.
