This grant funds projects that strengthen and sustain global ocean observing capacities coordinated under the IOC Global Ocean Observing System. It supports deployment of ocean observation equipment, capacity building, and collaboration among scientists, authorities, and industry to advance marine biodiversity knowledge, climate resilience, and EU leadership. Projects must align with EU and international ocean and biodiversity commitments and promote open data sharing and innovative technologies.
Eligible applicants include entities from EU and associated countries, with specific provisions for some non-EU countries. Projects must comply with data sharing principles and use Copernicus/Galileo services if satellite data is involved. Entities controlled by China are excluded.
