This internship supports research on geologic hydrogen production through high-temperature, high-pressure water-rock reactions in geothermal systems. Participants will design and operate specialized core-flood systems to measure hydrogen generation and rock permeability changes during serpentinization. The program offers hands-on experience with experimental apparatus, high-pressure flow systems, and reactive transport techniques, fostering skills in both independent and collaborative research environments.
Eligible applicants include undergraduate and graduate students in good standing, as well as recent Bachelor's or Master's graduates within 60 months of appointment start. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be at least 18 years old, and have health insurance coverage.
