Future Fellowships fund outstanding mid-career researchers to undertake high-quality basic and applied research addressing significant knowledge gaps. The scheme supports leadership, mentoring, and fosters national and international collaboration. Funded research must create new knowledge with economic, social, cultural, or environmental benefits aligned with Australian Government priorities, enhancing Australia's research capacity.
Applicants must be mid-career researchers with a PhD awarded between March 2012 and March 2022 (accounting for allowable career interruptions). Applications must be submitted through eligible organizations' Research Offices. Previous recipients or thrice-nominated individuals are ineligible.
