The Distributed National Collections Program supports the identification, development, conservation, maintenance, and display of nationally significant artistic or cultural collections. It funds training, professional development, partnering, networking, and collection management activities to strengthen best practices in the museums and galleries sector. Grants are administered by three designated Australian institutions, each delivering a sub-program to assist not-for-profit organizations in preserving cultural heritage.
Only three specific grantees are eligible: the National Library of Australia, the Australian National Maritime Museum, and the Australian Museums and Galleries Association. This is a closed, non-competitive grant program.
