The France-Berkeley Fund offers up to $15,000 in seed funding to support new collaborative research projects between faculty and scientists at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, or Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and their counterparts in France. Proposals in any discipline are welcome, prioritizing balanced team exchanges, early-career involvement, and projects fostering long-term connections. Funding covers project-specific costs but excludes salaries. Projects must complete within 24 months, with possible extensions.
Eligible applicants are faculty and researchers with permanent appointments and PI status at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, or Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, collaborating with permanent faculty at French universities or research institutions.
