This invitation-only call supports high-quality social work research focused on healthcare and social welfare systems. Funded topics include client safety, vulnerable populations, preventive social work, client participation, personnel expertise, and evaluation of prior funded projects. Applications from individual teams or consortia with prior high-scoring but unfunded proposals are invited. Funding starts in 2027 for up to 48 months with a total budget of €3,925,000.
Eligible applicants are researchers whose 2026 university-level social work research proposals scored at least 96 points but were not funded. Applications can be from individual teams or consortia of two or more teams representing one or more research organizations.
