The 2027 Academy Project funding supports high-quality and groundbreaking research initiatives across all fields. It funds individual research teams or consortia to produce ambitious research designs, strengthen expertise, and cover team hiring and direct research costs. Funding amounts reach up to 1 million euros for individual projects and 1.5 million euros for consortia over four years. Applicants must have doctoral degrees, significant scientific merits, and a close connection to Finland.
Eligible applicants are individual research teams or consortia with PIs holding a doctoral degree and significant scientific merits, typically at professor or docent level, with a close connection to Finland. Restrictions apply for those currently funded under specific Academy schemes.
