This grant funds basic and translational research in life sciences fields including immunology, microbiome, structural biology, cellular physiology, cancer biology, genetics, genomics, microbiology, stem cell biology, and neuroscience. Awards provide up to $700,000 over three years, supporting direct research costs but excluding capital equipment. Applicants must be PSU faculty with institutional nomination, and projects must align with the Foundation's mission and exclude certain areas like Covid-19 and clinical trials.
Eligible applicants are PSU faculty only. Collaborative projects with researchers outside the United States are not considered, even if the PI is at an approved US institution. Institutional nomination limits submissions to three per cycle.
