The award recognizes significant green and sustainable synthetic routes and process technologies for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients or intermediates. It funds innovations that reduce waste, toxic chemicals, and environmental impact beyond routine optimizations. Recipients present at the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference and receive up to $2,500 for travel plus a $5,000 award and recognition.
Eligible applicants are individuals or teams (up to 10) who have developed specific innovative green chemistry technologies at meaningful scale. Prior winners of the Green Chemistry Challenge Award are ineligible.
