The MMUF Travel and Research Grants provide up to $5,000 to Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship alumni who are Ph.D. candidates. The funding supports essential pre-dissertation research such as travel to field sites, archive access, or securing specialized materials. Eligible fields include Humanities, Social Sciences, and select Physical Sciences. Funds cannot be used for hardware, conference travel, living expenses, or tuition.
Eligible applicants are Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship alumni who are Ph.D. candidates in approved fields. Candidates must have passed comprehensive exams, completed coursework, and have an approved dissertation topic.
