The Thomas J. Watson Fellowship supports graduating seniors nominated by partner institutions to conceive and execute original, independent projects outside the United States for one year. Fellows receive a $40,000 stipend, health insurance, loan payments, and additional support. The program emphasizes personal insight and exploration without academic affiliation or formal employment.
Applicants must be graduating seniors nominated by one of 39 partner institutions, US citizens or international students, able to spend 12 consecutive months outside the US or their home country. All majors are eligible.
