Collections Grants support organizations worldwide in reinterpreting and re-presenting their permanent collections of American art. Funded activities include research, planning, conservation, interpretation, exhibition design, and related work. Grants support both planning (typically $25,000-$75,000) and implementation (up to $100,000) phases. Eligible applicants include museums, art centers, and community-based cultural organizations with 501(c)(3) status or international equivalent. The program encourages inclusive and expansive histories and practices in American art.
Eligible applicants are organizations with United States 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or its international equivalent. Grants are not made to individuals. U.S.-based projects without tax-exempt status may apply via a fiscal sponsor.
